This is a people manager and leadership role with procurement responsibility for driving all aspects of strategic and operational elements of the business. This person will manage and mentor a team of Global Supply Managers and will interact with Engineering,WW Materials, Strategic Suppliers and Apple Contract Manufacturers in order to optimize commodity objectives in support of overall product strategy.
The role requires a passionate work ethic, relationship-building skills, analytical skills, strategic thinking, communication skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional team member.
8+ years in a procurement-focused role
Business acumen and experience in contracting, report building, supply base research, as well as skill in creating presentations and spreadsheets utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Keynote
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader/ people manager, with significant SE East business experience.
Description
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Interfacing with Engineering for new product development strategy. Will implement and optimize material selection and maintain lowest cost, predictable availability, and ensure industry leadership in quality
Managing the development and implementation of all procurement initiatives
Negotiating strategic contracts including pricing and terms and conditions.
Establishing and developing strategic sourcing strategies and supplier relationships
Ensuring product availability on a daily basis which includes ensuring supplier flexibility while maintaining total lowest cost from concept to EOL.
Interfacing with suppliers, contract manufactures, and Apple internal cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution and support of all business goals and objectives
Developing and driving the direct team to achieve established goals and objectives
Education
BS in engineering or BA degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
