Business Development Director Flex San Jose

The Business Development Director will be based in San Jose, CA. The role is responsible for creating relationships within target customers and hunt for new business opportunities for our CCS (Communications and Cloud Solutions) business group. Aggressively attacking OEM Platforms solutions focused on servers, storage, networking, converged infrastructure and wireless infrastructure to increase market share growth and long term strategic partnerships.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

Create net new system-level OEM Integration, JDM, and Sketch to Scale opportunities
Establish senior relationships with new customers and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets
Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking
Analyze and understand customers’ business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex resources where mutually beneficial.
Successfully influence senior level management, executives and key clients.
Develop and maintain territory plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis
Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for a company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales
Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
Identify sales support requirements and work with marketing to develop improve sales tools
Keep detailed notes on prospect and customer interactions
Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace
Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

BS or MS degree required with technical background preferred
10+ years of experience in OEM/JDM Platform sales in related markets (Traditional Private IT and DC, wirelined, networking, wireless companies)
Experienced in cold calling, networking and sourcing leads
Strong financial and business acumen
Excellent MS Office skills
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Experience working with vast remote cross-functional teams in large matrix organizations
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

Knowledge of CM/EMS industry, with a background in Manufacturing with an understanding of global Supply Chains, Support Services, and Engineering Services
