The Director, Platform Solutions PMO will primarily be responsible for overseeing strategic projects and programs that support key business priorities for NBCU’s Ad Sales organization. This role will manage a team of Project Managers that oversee various initiatives that align with key Ad Sales strategies and potentially span across external business units within NBCU, including the individual vertical divisions (Entertainment, News, and Sports), Digital Distribution, and Global Media Operations (GMO). The Director, Platform Solutions PMO will be responsible for establishing best in class project management practices inclusive of project planning, scoping, timelines, communication matrices, and close out/launch processes. An understanding of the digital landscape is a must, including insight on current market trends, social platforms, ad serving platforms, digital content distribution landscape, and data. The types of projects supported by the PMO include top tier event Program Management (Olympics, World Cup, Red Carpet), Partnership/Distribution PM Oversight, Strategic Platform Initiatives, and Network Product launches. This role reports to the Senior Director of Digital Platform Solutions.
Manage and guide the Ad Sales project management team, with a focus on growing the project management discipline within the organization
Provide oversight and feedback to project management team on their specific projects, identifying project risks and multiple mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution
Program management of the larger ad product technology roadmap, which encompasses over 100+ active programs within a given quarter
Program management of Ad Sales top priority initiatives, with a proven ability to drive a senior level stakeholder team to consensus
Communication to larger NBCU organization of top Ad Sales platform priorities; ability to communicate top level priorities to product, technology, and development teams
Program management of top tier large scale events, including Olympics, NFL, and World Cup
Drive development and roll out of best in class project management practices across the Ad Sales organization
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum (6) years’ experience in a Project Management role with a proven history of increasing responsibility and scope
Experience managing a team
Desired Characteristics
Experience working directly in digital media, as it relates to display, video, mobile, audience and inventory platforms
An attention to detail while reviewing project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project requirements
Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex concepts for a variety of audiences
Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate resolutions to complex problems
Ability to organize meetings including creating pertinent agendas, managing conversations, and summarizing the results into a set of decisions made and next steps
