RMS is looking for engineers who are excited and passionate about tackling complex leading-edge software engineering challenges, processing large amounts of data at runtime within the context of a highly analytical, model-based computation framework. Who are looking for to solve incredibly challenging business and science problems real-world problems that will have real impact. We are building a new system from the ground-up that:
* is based on Linux, Java, and open source technologies, and leverages the latest advances in database tools, vector processing, hardware-based acceleration techniques, and geographic visualization tools
* utilizes a unique Big Data approach scaling to massive sizes over time, large scale distributed data processing technology, and best-in-class virtualization technology
Primary Responsibilities & Objectives
Experience in managing an experienced Dev Ops team with embedding High Availability, Scalability and Efficiency for distributed systems working closely with architecture, engineering and infrastructure teams.
Provision new customer environments and support frequent release cycles.
Sponsor Non-Functional Requirements needed for reliability and cost-efficiency throughout the development life cycle.
Implementing monitoring strategy and tools for proactive detection of failures and deliver visibility into services metrics.
Drive a culture of automation, and self-service enablement for developers
Work with information security leadership and technical team to automate security into the platform and services.
Lead Root Cause Analysis discussions for the cloud platform and supported services.
Qualifications, Skills and Education
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of engineering experience focused on delivery of quality, highly available online services environments
5+ years of experience implementing and managing Big Data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, …)
Experience managing to customer SLAs
7+ years systems engineering experience in Linux environments
Experience with agile development and working with agile engineering teams
Fluency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl..)
Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Experience with a micro services architecture a plus
Experience with implementation of Incident Management, Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis
Demonstrated experience building high performance teams
Bias for action and collaborative approach
Ability to embrace and lead change
