Director Business Management Microsoft Redmond

This role combines business strategy, business management, field engagement, customer and partner engagement, and initiative leadership. This role is responsible for supporting the VP and LT by creating and driving strategic alignment, decision making and management processes to enable the team to succeed against business objectives. You will need to be comfortable engaging with the senior leaders and managing priorities in a fast-paced, complex matrix environment.
Key responsibilities:

• Support the VP in the alignment of strategy and execution and the leadership community including leading initiatives and special projects as needed

• Work in close cooperation with the WCB, GSMO and DSS Chief of Staff/business managers to ensure that the executive agenda is coordinated across the ROB, including key business planning activities (Quarterly Business Updates, Monthly Business Reviews, etc.)

• Manage the agenda for the Microsoft CSU Leadership Team, including regular staff meetings and off-sites, and ensure communication and coordination between teams is as effective as possible.

• Coordinate with the communications team to manage agenda, content and execution of All-Hands Meetings, Sr. Leader meetings, and Events.

• Interface closely with business partners in CELA, Readiness, Finance and HR

• Identify, document, and follow-up on issues, and help drive their closure to ensure overall productivity of the organization.

• Drive VP field visits in partnership with field teams. This includes helping to strategically define what meetings make a productive and efficient visit, ensuring the meeting briefs and agendas support these engagements for a rich outcome, as well as ensuring every detail is satisfied to the highest bar of quality - and that the learning from each visit are captured and used to improve future visits.

• Lead the strategic planning, subsidiary outreach, communications, briefing process and logistical preparation for VP Executive Visits (e.g. CIO Summit, EBCs, employee roundtables) by planning/coordinating the overall process.



Position requirements: This position will be based in Redmond, WA. The successful candidate will have the ability to operate at senior levels of the company, develop key processes and procedures that facilitate management of the business, and build successful relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to help drive results. The candidate must have a deep understanding of the Microsoft ROB, be able to understand complex business strategies, and be able to translate key themes and tactics into understandable, executable components and messages for broad consumption. The business manager should have strong project management skills to support driving cross group initiatives. The business manager will often operate in an ambiguous environment, with minimal supervision, and thus must possess strong personal drive and self-motivation. The combination of strong process and organization skills, the ability to think strategically about the business are critical in this role.

• Executive maturity to deal with sensitive information



Basic qualifications: Minimum 10 years of business experience.

Preferred: MBA or advanced technology degree with business management experience; Knowledge of the Microsoft field organization a plus
