The position combines the ability to direct business plans by actively contributing to definition and implementation of new products, processes, standards or operational plans with significant impact on the team’s overall results. The Director role combines commercial skills with specialist technical knowledge in a pre-sales and post-sales role. The successful candidate, through various knowledge transfer activities, will help successfully execute on such things as BlackBerry architecture reviews and security model discussions, along with the presentation of effective pilot strategies, successful deployment plans, and discussions regarding the extension of the BlackBerry platform for corporate data access. The Director Technical Solutions, through interactions with the customer, will play a critical role in helping to remove technical objections within key corporate accounts as well as help the carrier develop further customer confidence in the BlackBerry solution.
The following are the core activities for this role:
Support Account Management team in technical training and troubleshooting
Support Sales in pre/post sale meetings as needed to help qualify, explain and scope technical support needs
Clearly articulate and document issues and resolutions to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Proactively and commercially engage with existing customers on new possibilities and opportunities
Support and manage pilot/upgrade/expansion/migration projects
Provide technical expertise and knowledge of the BlackBerry solution as well as articulate and evangelize the BlackBerry solution to end customers and Carrier/Indirect Partner technical staff.
Deliver technical product expertise to customers, sales teams and channel partners, participate in and present at regional trade shows that have a technical audience to develop technical sales documentation to support product initiatives
Coordinate pilots with the largest corporate clients in the country to ensure a smooth transition between customers and BlackBerry teams
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience
At least four years’ experience in management with at least 2 years’ as a Senior Manager
Demonstrated effectiveness in planning, organizing, directing staff and resources in developing, implementing quality and timely products/programs to support client needs and requirements
Prior experience in technical presales of software platforms or end to end solutions in large enterprises
Excellent technical skills and strong analytical and diagnostics skills
Technical knowledge on how firewalls, proxies, software distribution, asset management, network infrastructures work
Confident and effective public speaker
