Serves as a visible and influential development expert and thought leader with the Business leadership team to enable expansion of the Region through Real Estate and Construction opportunities. Coaches and consults to Market development staff on initiatives and tactics to enable decisions that uphold standards and support attainment of collective goals. Establishes and fosters mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders, including Arcos, IDLs, Market Leadership, and the Global Development function.
Development Strategy
• Ensures that growth potential is being assessed and discussed as part of the overall development strategy
• Serves as a subject matter expert to Market leadership team to influence high level development strategy
• Partners in and is at the table to influence creation/formulation of short- and long-term development strategy (e.g., choices regarding growth potential optimization, portfolio, pipeline development, business extensions, lease vs buy, retail-build philosophy)
• Consistently discusses and evaluates development strategy and provide alternatives points of view to enhance impact of the strategy on the business
• Fosters alignment on the development strategy
Development Consultant
• Stays abreast of Development strategies, tactics, standards and technologies for McDonald’s Global Development function (e.g., strategic boards, networking, etc.)
• Serves as a thought partner to the Chief Development Officer to influence development direction and decisions
• Coaches Arcos development staff to enable technical and leadership competencies
• Leverages center information and resources to help Arcos with all areas of real estate and construction
Brand-Building/ Standards Compliance
• Offers guidance on design, construction and site layout, and site selection quality
• Ensures compliance of system building and design standards
• Ensure Arcos compliance with DL support agreement through leadership, guidance, and development support to the DLs
Capability-Building for Future Self-Reliance
• Provides guidance on hiring needs, talent development, leadership and technical training to attain the development strategy and growth targets
• PMO adoption and deployment
Execution
• Tracks, monitors and communicates plan performance and progress
