Microsoft Office is in the midst of a business model transformation. A key part of this change is the shift to a business that is based on subscription and freemium mobile clients. Our success will be based on how we leverage the data, allowing everyone in the organization to make data informed decisions that drive outcomes. This role provides a unique opportunity to work within the engineering organization, while also closely partnering with marketing and other disciplines and organizations from across the company. The most successful candidate will have experience analyzing data from a wide range of datasets and across a breadth of technology platforms. They enjoy rapid and changing projects and have strong analytical skills, technical aptitude and a collaborative work style. Basic Qualifications
•A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
•Able to understand and translate business and product questions into analytics projects
•Experience working with unstructured big data
•Prior knowledge of data modeling and processing
techniques for big data systems
•Expert in querying and analyzing data using Scope, Hive, SQL, Python, R, and/or C#
•Highly experienced with machine learning techniques
•Ability to articulate vision, requirements, and benefits to business and engineering partners
•Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, executives and subject matter experts
•College degree in related field required
•A degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science) is desired
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
