The International Tax Director for Audit & Controversy will lead the Facebook International Tax team in handling all income tax audits outside of the US.
This role will be located at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California, reporting to Director, Head of International Tax.
This position will have three major areas of responsibilities: (1) Audit Management, (2) Planning, and (3) Reporting.
Work with Facebook’s regional tax teams to manage all international income tax audits outside of the US, including (1) strategizing and negotiating audit settlements, (2) assisting the drafting and reviewing all documents submitted to tax authorities around the world, (3) developing audit strategies, and (4) managing and hiring outside advisors.
Ensure a coordinated approach is taken for international tax audits and improve efficiency in information gathering, sharing, and preparation for audit purposes.
Provide direction to international tax compliance and planning processes to ensure adequate documentation of foreign transactions.
Develop solutions together with tax planning team members to mitigate overall tax risks and potential future audit issues of Facebook’s international operations and investments.
Work with advisors as necessary to develop positions and to prepare necessary memos, analysis and documentations.
Responsible for directing the tax accounting and statutory tax disclosure process as it relates to international tax audit issues, and for updating senior management on the status of Facebook’s international tax audit issues.
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of experience in public accounting, private industry, law firm, or a combination
Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field
International tax planning experience
Experience communicating with global teams and stakeholders
International travel up to 30-40% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. Taxation or JD/LL.M.
