As a member of the PDA team supporting Pfizer Oncology, this role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of R&D, commercial, and strategic topics that are critical to our business. In addition, we are constantly driving thought leadership with our business partners, and continuously seeking new and creative ways to communicate highly complex and dynamic information.

Responsibilities

Decision analysis
• Establish highly collaborative, cross-functional relationships / partnerships with Asset / Project teams and other key stakeholders

• Proactively bring portfolio insights, strategic ideas, and new capabilities to stakeholders

• Facilitate discussion of strategic options

• Develop and apply appropriate analytical frameworks to help inform decision-making in the context of the business segment and the broader Pfizer portfolio

• Lead analyses across large cross-functional teams that guide strategic investment decisions by implementing decision analysis (DA) methodologies to evaluate alternatives and incorporate relevant cost, risk, and return inputs

• Communicate critical insights that impact strategic investment decisions to senior leadership and governance bodies

• Lead executive briefings and prepare teams for a decision to invest

Portfolio analysis and prioritization
• Lead / co-lead the business segment portfolio prioritization process

• Support the pan-Pfizer portfolio prioritization process

• Lead integration of project-level detail into a cohesive end-to-end portfolio story to ensure senior leadership support

• Lead cross-functional strategic R&D portfolio projects for senior stakeholders that identify portfolio trends, risks, and opportunities

• Ability to fluently answer portfolio related questions from senior leadership in a crisp, simple manner.

Strategy
• Lead analytical support for “non-asset” / strategic projects by applying appropriate analytical techniques and frameworks

• Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership

Qualifications

Professional characteristics

• Strong at project management: Clearly articulates scope and deliverables of projects; breaks complex initiatives into detailed component parts and sequences actions appropriately; develops action plans and monitors progress independently; designs success criteria and uses them to track outcomes; drives implementation of recommendations when appropriate, engages with stakeholders throughout to ensure buy-in

• Influencer: Clearly articulates expectations, capabilities, and action plans; actively listens with others’ frame of reference in mind; appropriately shares information with team; favorably influences people without direct authority,

• Financially / analytically proficient: Possesses strong understanding and expertise of expected cash flow modeling, economic value measures (e.g., NPV, IRR), and other types of analytical modeling (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, multi-attribute analysis)

Professional experience and educational requirements
• Advanced degree in business, decision analysis, medicine / science, or related quantitative field

• At least 10 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, finance, strategic planning, portfolio management, or decision analysis

• Expertise in healthcare required; expertise in biopharmaceuticals preferred

• Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
