The Director, Finance Optimization will have responsibility for managing projects and/or project work-steams in support of SPE's finance and operating initiatives within the Finance Optimization Team (FOT), a small team that provides advice and counsel to the larger finance organization within SPE to ensure the finance division engages in a process of continuous process improvement and pursues ever greater levels of efficiency. This position will have significant interaction with the Finance, Operations and Information Technology organizations within SPE to deliver business improvement across the company.

Responsibilities include:
• Developing project plans and deliverables
• Prioritizing and organizing tasks related to projects
• Managing Work -- Taking ownership of timely task and project completion
• Ensuring Quality -- Ensuring results meet quality standards
• Ensure proper accounting for departmental and division-wide transactions
• Gather and assimilate data required to complete assigned project
• Communicate results and conclusions to senior management
• Analyze impact of proposed solutions on people, processes, systems
• Adjust project efforts to manage multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change
• Prioritize and systematically organize the team’s efforts around project scope and objectives
• Ensure scope is clearly defined and validated continuously
• Monitor actual progress against planned activity and budget, surfacing issues in a timely fashion
• Define critical issues for risk management with clients and manage senior management expectations
• Address quality assurance (QA) issues
• Manage internal team members, contractors and vendors effectively to mitigate risks
• Supervise support staff as needed
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment
• Apply technical expertise as Global Process Lead for designated financial processes
• Diagnose gaps, bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement, leveraging best practices or continuous improvement techniques
Qualifications
· B.S. / B.A.- Finance, Accounting, or Business degree
· CPA and/or MBA preferred
· 8+ years’ work experience, primarily on business process improvement engagements/initiatives
· Excellent management, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
· Strong systems and analytical skills required, particularly leveraging SAP modules/tools
· Excellent organizational skills required.
· Entertainment or related industry experience preferred
· Ability to manage multiple projects
· Self-motivated team player
· Strong project management skills
· Ability to travel internationally on occasional basis
