The Director, HBO Promotion Planning and Scheduling, is responsible for overseeing the tracking and analysis of promotion airing on HBO and MAX to ensure that on-air campaigns are being optimized on a weekly basis based on targets set for each individual campaign and as part of the promotional mix of campaigns airing on the network at a given time. This position is also integral to the strategic planning of pre-roll promotional assets on the digital platforms, GO and NOW, and working with the Marketing and Retention teams on driving awareness to our product.

Create the in-house planning workbooks that all managers and planners use to plan and schedule weekly promotion on 15 linear channels of HBO and MAX, which is in direct correlation to the targets set by the planning team.
Evaluate weekly performance of on-air campaigns based on scheduled promotion and GRP’s for individual shows for all HBO and MAX linear campaigns. Analyze campaigns that are in flight each week, manage individual program asset allocation, and deliver actionable data to the Planning and Scheduling teams to improve the health of an on-air campaign based on the weekly numbers.
Provide post analysis of individual campaigns within each genre and provide detailed analysis of weekly allocation of GRP’s so as to inform future linear campaign planning. Provide monthly summary to departmental Senior Management about the current landscape of linear and platform promotion.
Coordinate strategic planning of pre-roll promotion on GO and NOW for our team. Provide input in the weekly premiere meeting and provide recommendations for key return and catalog title offerings on the platforms.
Work with the Digital Marketing team to coordinate and align pre-roll messaging on the platforms with planned newsletter and social marketing initiatives to deliver a focused promotional message to subscribers. Work with Research to analyze information to find opportunities to help drive awareness to the product.
Create complex excel spreadsheets and graphs to demonstrate and exhibit information pertinent to the department concerning promotion availability, allocation of promotional weight, and other data driven information that optimizes promotion planning on the networks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 10 years of promotion planning and scheduling experience.
Strong knowledge of research and program performance metrics to be able to compile and analyze data to make thoughtful decisions about on-going and future campaigns.
Thorough understanding of the promotion planning process from the creation of benchmarks based on historical data, to targets based on knowledge of GRP’s, daypart and demo info and weekly performance based on deliverables and allocation of promotional weight.
Outstanding strategic judgment regarding promotion priorities and familiarity with the inner workings of the planning and scheduling department from all perspectives to align recommendations that meld both the linear and digital worlds.
Strong knowledge of the digital media space and the promotional opportunities it presents with specific attention to exposure, usage and performance.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and facilitate at meetings.
Ability to design custom spreadsheets with an advanced skill set, by processing a high volume of data to deliver information in real-time to departmental staff based on current and future needs.
Strong knowledge of movies and HBO programming.
