Your Opportunity:

Partnering with functional counterparts to understand business strategy and provide guidance in enabling optimal IT solutions, including legacy-system and new-application evaluations, technical architecture determination, cost-effective business solutions, and strategic planning.
Applying a transformation focus to assist with the consolidation of functions/infrastructure, improve processes and margins, reduce relative cost structure, and increase efficiencies through improved use of resources, metrics, new technologies, and quality efforts.
Managing the execution of projects and initiatives, including project delivery in alignment with Agile methodology, budgeting, soundness of applications, risk reduction, steering committee updates, and documentation.
Managing service requests pertaining to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support, and ensuring that cross-functional integration and impact are considered when responding.
Leading staff in the technical support of business applications and users, encompassing staffing, evaluation/leverage of contractor resources, and career development.
Establishing and adhering to IT governance policies and procedures: standards, change-control procedures, enhancement monitoring/control, and prioritization/approval.
Managing/performing internal IT functions, including high-level IT risks, disaster-recovery plans, budget position, cross-functional integration/alignment of processes.
Managing processes/procedures related to Sarbanes-Oxley, such as adherence to documented testing and production-migration procedures.

Required Credentials

Undergraduate degree
Ten or more years of related experience within a corporation of comparable size and complexity to GATX
Proficiency in the areas of team-building, project management, system-development lifecycle, conflict management, process analysis and design, system and process-improvement methodologies, and communication
A strong customer focus
Demonstrated decision-quality, priority-setting, and analytical skills
A strong drive for results
A high degree of integrity and trustworthiness
Ability to adapt well to change
Willingness and ability to work overtime as required by workload/schedule, and travel occasionally depending on project parameters

Preferred Credentials:

Undergraduate study concentration in computer science, finance, accounting, business administration or engineering
