Leads a robust finance team. Ensures constant team development with an eye towards progression and retention. Responsible for all aspects of HR in regard to department including: hiring, termination (when necessary), compensation, and performance evaluation.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance or Economics from four-year college or university and a minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training. Public accounting experience preferred (varies depending on specifics of role). CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports and manuals using distinctive style. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, business people and management. Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with business partners, key employees, top management, and client groups on various projects. Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams. Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts. SEC reporting experience desired (depending on the specific finance role). Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Ability to accurately explain/report activity in verbal and written communications. Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired (particularly HFM Consolidation, PeopleSoft Financials and Cognos Planning). Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology helpful. Strong work ethic and adaptable. Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines.
