Director Portfolio Management Sandoz Princeton

Responsible for preparing for and facilitating bi-annual selection meetings that drive Sandoz long-term pipeline. Responsible for managing the overall product portfolio decision making process for the Company and making sure that R&D projects stay within timelines recommended to gain best financial plans.

Interact with Project Management, Business Development, Patent Counsel, Marketing, Market Research and Legal throughout the year to understand where gaps in the pipeline are developing and how to close them.
• Identifies brand drugs coming off patent and manages the process of compiling and analyzing product, competitive intelligence, market and other trend data.
• Interacts with Development, API Sourcing, Legal, Patent Counsel, Market Research, Manufacturing, Sales/Marketing, Finance, and Business Development to identify specific patent issues by product, formulation and bio-equivalence complexity/difficulty, development readiness, manufacturing capabilities, opportunities for paragraph IV, type and extent of API sourcing issues, brand sales forecast, generic penetration rates, price points and Sandoz market share.
• Develops specific milestones for development of each product. Once products are selected, coordinates with BD&L and project management functions to incorporate development progress and deal activity into portfolio management tool which models forecasted revenue for the products we have selected.
• Works with R&D to determine capacity implications and adjusts product portfolio as needed.
• Responsible for identifying new off cycle products to fill gaps as they emerge. Interacts with Generics Sector to determine what products are candidates for global development.
• Leads the operations and activities of a major functional area, recommending strategy. Requires in-depth functional knowledge and thorough company knowledge.
• Will participate in corporate strategy development through advocacy for programs and projects in their area. Requires cross-functional communication and negotiation. Makes decisions and implements policies that affect areas of the company outside their own functional area. May manage through subordinate managers.
• This position has supervisory responsibilities. The position involves indirect supervisory responsibilities.
