Core Responsibilities
Secure proper process definition including time studies, line balancing, direct labor standards, operator instructions, visual aids, process sequences, workstation layout and part presentation
Define tooling and equipment based on assembly processes, ergonomic requirements and engineering specifications. Implement tooling standards and infrastructure for Class 1 and 2 Poka Yoke System to ensure reliable torque control
Watch: Career Advice Establish Hours/Truck targets and validate plant manning requirements by classification
Management and Development of NRV Industrial and Liaison engineers in world class engineering practices and the integration of those functions in the Business Team structure
Manage product change implementation following the Global Development Process; Ensure cross-functional representation through the creation and use of Launch teams for each project
Support new product introduction programs by coordinating the plant process reviews, the equipment requirements, the process changes and all relevant plant impacts
Define, and manage industrial start budgets and cost for NRV product launch
Work closely with engineering and product preparation to define and promote design for assembly with efficient production processes that guarantee quality in station
Oversees, coordinates and/or directs the design, planning, construction, alteration and operational standards of equipment, machinery, buildings, hoist, cranes, conveyors and other facilities or critical equipment
Plan and track workload to develop and implement improvement plans for improved cost and efficiency of all maintenance and facility activities
Develop long term facilities evolution to provide optimum structure to the required industrial process and world class image for customers in accordance with Global Manufacturing standards
Ensure the proper application of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 conformity, Environmental reports and permits, emergency and containment procedures)
Develop the use of alternative and renewable source of energy to reduce CO2 production
Establish and develop recycling, pollution prevention and waste reduction programs
Develop annual, 3 years and 10 years Business Plans in collaboration with all other plant departments
Analyze and maintain plant capacity planning and data; alleviate process bottlenecks and constraints to improve mix and product flexibility
Define, consolidate and maintain capital budgets for all improvement/upgrade and replacement requirements
Support the development and the Volvo Production System in conjunction with the plant
Develop and maintain the long term industrial vision and master plan describing the evolution of the plant with a 10 years horizon
Maintain a current knowledge level of new concepts, techniques and technologies related to our processes to support Continuous Improvement efforts
Secure consistency in Business approach and best practices with the rest of the Quality Engineering Knocked Down organization
Other responsibilities include defining the implementation strategy at the New River Valley Plant as well as supporting and coordinating the implementation process, and all required training; motivate managers to create and follow a road map for lean implementation, identifying undertakings, goals, and timelines
The position will entail total responsibility for the cooperation efficiency between sites and therefore you will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the New River Valley Plant

Minimum Education Required
MBA/DBA Degree in Business or BS Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum Years of Experience Required
Five (5) years of experience required with educational requirements
Ten (10) years of experience required without educational requirements
Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience
