This position oversees the operations of Surgical Services. Plans, directs and coordinates all operational activities for areas of responsibility. Develops policies and procedures as well as the quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility. Develops the capital and operating budgets in areas of responsibility. Ensures areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed by hiring and retaining competent staff. As a member of Good Samaritan Hospital's management team makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Scope of work:
The Director of Surgical Services will have 5 director reports and 180 indirect reports, all in surgical services. We have 14 Operation Rooms and do 25-30 cases per day. Our hospital covers everything but Transplant and Burns, and are keenly focused on outcomes and patient satisfaction.
This is a very fast paced OR and carries a lot of responsibility. Our annual ED volume is ~60,000 per year and we carry a census of ~220 per day.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
BSN
CA Nursing license, or be able to obtain one
BCLS Certification
3-5 years of progressive hospital/nursing management experience
Master’s Degree is preferred
CNOR preferred
