The Product Marketing Director owns the end to end product line & portfolio strategy, plans, growth and profitability throughout the product life cycle including the evaluation of globalization opportunities and product improvements. The product director is responsible for leading, managing and directing all of the product marketing related activities within their business / product line and is the leader of the Product Action Committee (PAC). The successful candidate will work closely with other PACS, manufacturing and sourcing, engineering, advanced technology, sales, key business partners and the senior management team to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of their product portfolio today and in the future.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

Owns and manages product life cycle financial performance (profit and loss), inventory, product quality performance and integrity.
Sets strategy for product portfolio optimization and organizational execution requirements.
Develop Product Market Requirement Document (MRD) with specific detailed technical and marketing roadmaps.
Develops and executes integrated lifecycle product, technology, and environment roadmaps.
Develops and executes strategic plans, product plans, including cost reduction and growth strategies.
Leads PAC cross-functional teams to improve product quality, yield, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
Manages & leads product line and PAC for complete life cycle of current products including product business plans and product roadmaps coordinated with all business units and functions.
Directs and maintains competitive product/service portfolios that deliver more value than next best alternative including demonstration of innovating profitable business models and leading change.
Identifies new product opportunities to grow the product line in the commercial, military and helo sectors.
Communicates and coordinates with other MPM leaders and applicable PAC teams to drive integrated strategies, synergies, design reuse, and coordinated development requirements.
Develops new product concepts, focusing on collection of solid VOC information and development of robust product business plans.
Develops and understands customer total cost of ownership.
Collaborates with the Customer Business Teams to perform product voice of the customer.
Defines value propositions based on customer needs analysis and incorporates into value proposition/go to market strategies.
Develops product roadmaps that consider mandates, competitive threats, and customer needs dates to develop executable plans that meet all requirements in an appropriate time frame.
Owns product prioritization and product total investment. Sets priorities and approves funding requirements and changes.
Aligns resources for product strategy deployment for product line execution- including capital, momentum, RD&E, recovery, and technical capabilities (engineering and manufacturing).
Approves product line financial analysis in accordance with product line roadmaps/strategies. Determines and approves pricing inputs for financial analysis, value pricing, pricing strategy and catalogue publications.
Defines obsolescence management requirements and drives obsolescence decisions that meet product strategy.
Drives and owns product lifecycle strategy & addresses excess and obsolete SKUs, SKU management reduction, and product upgrades.

Qualifications

You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical field (engineering, or related discipline)
Minimum of 7 years directly related experience (experience managing and promoting high technology products from inception through sunset) and prior experience leading a PAC.
Minimum of 10 years of total work experience.

Written and presentation communication skills.
Customer contact experience desired.
Green Belt Certification.
