The Director, Human Resources (Corporate HR Business Partner) is responsible for providing senior-level HR leadership, strategic HR solutions and business counsel to one or more members of Raytheon’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and their functional organizations. The Corporate Business Partner will collaborate with Corporate HR teams, Business Unit HR teams, HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR leadership and others across the company to build HR strategies, improve organizational performance, and develop capabilities that attract, reward, motivate, retain and develop global talent.

The Director will support SLT functional leaders on HR matters of significance to the company—serving both as a coach, partner, coordinator, and administrator of HR functions including talent acquisition, global talent development, leadership development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, compliance, organizational effectiveness , performance development, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. The Corporate HR Business Partner will facilitate the design and delivery of various HR processes that enable the client group(s) to meet business objectives, deliver results, and influence Global Growth, Competitive Advantage and Enterprise Collaboration. Responsibilities include leading and managing HR Generalists and/or HR LDPs. The Corporate business Partner will provide continuous coaching to facilitate their direct reports’ growth and development, assess performance and provide meaningful feedback, guidance and direction.


Primary Responsibilities:


Serves as the primary corporate business partner to SLT functional leader(s) and brokers solutions with influence and business acumen to address complex talent and business problems.


Conducts business and HR briefings for senior level leaders and top management.


Counsels SLT functional leader(s) on matters concerning development of their organization to enhance effectiveness and potential. Influence effectively to expand leadership capabilities.


Participates and collaborates as an integral part of the Corporate HR team. Develops and leads HR projects that encompass both domestic and international locations. Participates in and promotes a collaborative team environment by working with the HR organization and other enterprise organizations.


Leads and manages HR Generalists and HR LDP team members responsible for SLT client group(s). Provides guidance, direction, and coaching to the HR team; assesses performance, gives timely feedback, and develops individuals.


Develops, plans, organizes and facilitates all HR programs, processes and activities for client group(s) and provides guidance and counsel to leaders and employees with regard to successful execution of all HR programs, policies and procedures


Develops and coordinates effective Talent Management strategies to include workforce planning, succession planning, knowledge transfer and talent acquisition. Collaborates with respective HR counterparts across corporate and the company on talent development opportunities and rotations.


Integrates Diversity and Inclusiveness principles and practices into business goals and talent acquisition and development strategies to ensure qualified slates for leadership positions. Promotes a culture of inclusion across the function.


Develops, facilitates, communicates and implements pro-active Employee Relations strategies to resolve issues and complaints, including ADR case investigations. Focuses on creating a positive employee relations environment and culture.


Partners with Organizational Effectiveness to develop, manage, and execute key OE principles for change management activities. Leads organizational assessments, redesigns and interventions in collaboration with OE.


Educates functional leaders and employees on Raytheon’s performance development process and Total Compensation and rewards programs. Executes all annual and executive compensation processes with up-front and ongoing partnership with Enterprise and Business Unit Compensation.


Conducts targeted compensation reviews, and job grading analyses in partnership with enterprise and business unit compensation. Creates functional job descriptions to ensure job classifications are aligned with employee job tasks, qualifications, and responsibilities to meet FLSA guidelines and requirements.


Required Skills and Experience:


Minimum 14 years’ experience with related Bachelor’s degree
Must have strong business acumen, be innovative, adapt well to significant change and have strategic influence on other parts of the organization.


Ability to work collaboratively with all teams, and consult effectively with all levels of the organization.


Deep knowledge of HR fundamentals and subject matter expertise in all HR functions with a proven capability to provide a business perspective in formulating and implementing talent, organizational, and HR actions that will impact the business, drive required major change efforts and influence results


Ability to comprehend, explain and interpret policies in all areas of HR and develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation


Proven experience serving as the prime consultant and coach to senior leaders for their organization on highly-significant or confidential business and HR matters relating to organizational strategies and business imperatives


Ability to develop and present senior level leaders with proposed solutions that will collaboratively drive change throughout their organizations collectively or as a whole


Significant prior experience with management and employees with regard to talent acquisition, compensation, performance development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, organizational change, organizational learning and development, and organizational effectiveness


Excellent senior level customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and collaborative work behaviors with proven experience consulting, communicating and influencing effectively


Strong people skills with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate with major stakeholders, vendors and internal resources


Strong project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills with proven attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities.


Self-starter with initiative and independent judgment who also collaborates for success
