The Coach will report to the Global Head of the Way We Work (WWW), which is our in-house name for a LEAN management system launched in July 2014 and being deployed across all of S&P Global Ratings. The successful candidate will help introduce LEAN management to new teams, help in complex problem solving efforts and drive continuous improvement across the firm. We are looking for individuals with experience in applying LEAN management thinking in professional services or financial services companies.

Connecting all work with the company goals and strategies to give staff meaningful purpose by coaching management to understand customers and set targets on key performance indicators for that measure all stakeholder needs, and to coach leaders to promote a compelling vision and message for change
Developing people to reach their full potential by coaching managers to build skills to fill gaps in a team’s capabilities, and coaching managers and leaders to set a predictable environment and commitment to helping their teams develop and grow.
Essential Accountabilities:
The coach will be responsible for key areas as follows:
Coaching managers and members of cross functional teams on how to improve the quality and delivery of S&P credit ratings, research and analysis into the market.
For teams that have already been trained on WWW, showcase the lean Management system and mindset as enablers for teams to achieve their business goals.
Train new functional teams on how to use WWW system to align with ratings team and improve customer engagement, reduce operating risk and employee motivation.
Build credibility of and promote the Way We Work skills amongst organizational leaders.
Observe and provide structured feedback to workgroups and managers on strengths and development opportunities in the adoption of WWW tools and team dynamics.
WWW priorities are:
Help facilitate global strategic initiatives by enforcing, promoting and adopting WWW principles in the decision-making and escalation, especially helping cross functional teams work well together
Re-inforce consistency in problem-solving and simplification across all departments of S&P Global Ratings.
Guide the maintenance and continuous improvement of leading edge LEAN methodology applied across the organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree preferred.
10+ years’ experience in institutional financial services, professional services and/or consulting/coaching.
Knowledge of Shingo Model, Lean Management, or six sigma or similar transformational programs.
Appreciation of the importance of mindsets /behaviors in a lean transformation.
Coaching experience and ability to adopt a variety of coaching styles from inquiry to directing as appropriate
A strong coaching mindset and motivation to help people and teams grow to become high performing.
Cross functional domain knowledge and ability to work across silos.
Strong relationship building, conflict management, communication and influencing skills.
Facilitation and presentation skills, ideally in a training setting.
Self-starter, with ability to multi-task across different areas & multiple priorities.
Strong curiosity and desire to explore change, ability to think outside of the box and to anticipate issues and execute.
Problem solving ability: Work effectively & collaboratively and guide others through complex problem solving.
Strong proficiency in MS Office – Excel, PPT, MS Project.
