BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Solutions team is seeking to hire a Global Head of Investments for the Model Portfolio Solutions group. S/he will provide leadership to a global team responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of model portfolios. The Global Head will be expected to research, manage models and portfolios in addition to providing overall strategy for the team. The successful candidate will possess a passion for creative and critical thinking about financial markets, and a desire to be part of a fast-growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead a global team to develop and deliver custom solutions to meet investors’ unique objectives and constraints.
Position the Model Portfolio Solutions team for future growth by developing and delivering an investment platform for now and the future.
Build relationships with other teams supporting the investment and research process. Closely partner with multiple teams across the organization (trading research, capital markets research, etc) in the execution of joint research work, and partner to design and construct portfolios tailored to suit investor requirements and preferences.
Independently conduct economic and asset-class modeling to drive investment solutions and portfolios.
Leverage BLK investment professionals by representing MPS in BLK investment and client forums.
Support and drive the evolution of the investment platform and leverage the power of Aladdin and BLK risk tools in all aspects of portfolio management.
Ensure the business remains efficient from a cost perspective and that operational risk is tightly controlled
Interface with the most senior levels of colleagues, management, and clients.
Continue to evolve the investment process in a way that allows us to adapt to the increasingly complex demands of clients, enhance investment returns and reduce operating risk.
Skills & Experience Required:
Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) required within a business or technical field (finance, economics, etc.).
A track record of success as an investor and allocator within portfolio management. He/she will possess a solid understanding of the industry, the challenges, opportunities, and changing landscape from a global perspective.
Extensive experience in financial markets modeling with leading sell-side or buy-side institution.
Excellent quantitative skills, as evidenced by formal training in econometrics or statistics, and extensive experience in utilizing those skills within a financial services institution
Strong understanding of data available in the investment management industry and experience in managing and accessing such data to support research efforts.
Experience managing numerous investment professionals in a complex, global environment.
Previous success building a performing platform, and measurable with superior performance.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate must have the confidence and ability to persuasively interact at the most senior levels of colleagues, management, and clients.
Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable her/him to command the confidence, loyalty, and respect of investment colleagues and external constituents.
Experience attracting, hiring, setting expectations for, managing and mentoring individuals and/or teams.
Connections with the industry and an understanding of the needs and demands of clients.
