We are looking for an experienced, passionate, proactive and organized communicator/self-starter who enjoys resource management and can manage the day to day creative operations of Edelman. Work with the New Business Team, department heads and client leaders to manage available resources to ensure projects are running efficiently with the resources needed to meet key deliverable dates on time and within budget and to our clients’ expectations. Additionally, support in analyzing resource metrics.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Work with the Creative team, Resource Management, New Business team, department heads and client leads to assign work to staff according to capacity, experience and skill set for the department
Manage staffing requests within the office
Stay abreast of the new business pipeline to constantly update the resource plan
Manage active resourcing forecast spreadsheets for all multi-disciplined work in the office
Support the implementation of the new resource technology system in the NY office
Run weekly NY Resource Meeting and ensure staffing plans are abreast with business realities
Attend individual weekly status meetings with department heads to discuss all active programs and potential new business
Update regularly with Project Managers on the status of current programs
Alert team leaders of any potential concerns or issues with meeting key client deliverables
Recommend process improvements for Resource Management inbound and outbound reporting
Lead the roll out of the Edelman NY vendor database, helping with vendor bidding process and contracts as necessary
Sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of senior level freelance negotiations/hires
Meet with new client-facing hires and orient to working with Resource Management; manage recruiting efforts (full-time and freelance) as necessary
Requirements
10+ years prior general resource management (traffic management) experience or complementary experience, with a concentration on marketing/communications/consulting field
Proven track record of successful strategic and creative freelance hiring/staffing
Prior experience in branding, advertising, marketing or communications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, expertise in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
Top notch organizational skills; must be a self-starter
Familiar with variety of the field concepts, practices and procedures to better develop and implement new policies and efficient workflows
Ability to keep finger on the pulse of what is going on in each department
Ability to work with senior level staff
Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplined teams
Ability to handle large complex projects
Assertive conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
Ability to be diplomatic or firm, whichever required for successful interaction
Attention to detail a must; must understand how these map to the big picture
Proven drive and initiative and creativity
Self-motivated and self-directed
Must be a leader and team player and have the ability to work with people in all levels of the company
Bachelors degree required
