The Global Vendor Management (GVM) team at Amazon is looking for a talented and accomplished business leader to drive selection expansion of US brands to international marketplaces. The focus of the GVM International Brands team (GVM-IB) is on taking strong regional brands to new countries, with our focus in 2016 on India, China and Europe. Longer term, this team may also support international selection expansion to other Amazon marketplaces. Examples of target brands already secured through the program are Fitbit and Melissa & Doug.

Based in Seattle, WA, the Head of US Business Development for International Brands will report direct to Zak Watts / Leader for the International Brands program.
This leader’s strategic goals will include:
· Developing and converting a US BD pipeline to enable us to hit revenue and selection goals for all target marketplaces, as well as profitability goals in partnership with local teams.
· Hiring and developing top caliber talent, motivating and developing team members to deliver key metrics. As the International Brands business grows, the Head of US BD’s mission will include creating strong senior leaders who will progress to greater responsibilities across the broader Amazon business.
· Allocating and prioritizing the target list of vendors for the US BD team to work on. This will include being a stakeholder to WW analysis to develop the target list and partnering with local category teams to finalize the list. The list will be updated regularly based on learnings and new vendor potential.
· Building strong partnerships with the category teams in the US to support this program through vendor contact introductions and involvement as needed.
· Providing critical input to the roadmap of initiatives to enable the International Brands to scale fast, e.g. developing vendors fees and programs for supply chain and marketing services, as well as tools and processes to reduce manual tasks across the entire lifecycle of vendor recruitment
· This leader must be passionate about understanding and exceeding the demands of our teams in China, India and Europe as well as the International Brands who are looking for partners to help them build their businesses. This leader must demonstrate the ability to work effectively across multiple Amazon business units and functions and with vendors around the world to make this a reality.
The successful candidate for this role will achieve all of the following during the first 12 months in the position:
· The most important objective is to deliver quality selection of International Brands that will enable the China, India and EU businesses to deliver their objectives. Key measures will include # vendors launched, $ revenue, and contribution profit from vendors launched.
· In addition, the leader will help to further develop and improve standard vendor fees/terms, standard pitch deck and negotiation playbook, as well as the onboarding program for these International Brands to reduce the time between opportunity identification and start sell on Amazon.cn and Amazon.in, to secure optimal deals for home countries
· Hire and develop the BD team in the US to recruit vendors from the target list
· Understand the needs of the International Brands for marketing support drive vendor sign-up of launch marketing packages and other demand driving initiatives that ensure the success of these brands when launched in new markets
· Meet or exceed financial goals and key metrics of our International Brand strategy.
· Build a high performing team to deliver the International Brand strategy.
· Build strong relationships with the leaders in different functional areas needed to deliver an effective end to end global business including marketing/merchandising support, learn and share best practices; actively contribute to technology, systems and site experience developments on a global scale.
· Longer term, a key objective will be to build business development pipeline for International Brands from the US to every market in which Amazon operates around the world.
Basic Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
· 8+ years in general management.
· Bachelor's degree.
· Experience in vendor management, signing new vendors, and managing large accounts.
· Design and negotiate high level contracts in a regulatory environment
· Industry experience in B2B or B2C business models with multiple distribution characteristics.
· Experience in project management with bottom-line impact.
· Fluent in English (written and oral communication).
