Editorial Director Growth Mashable New York

Mashable is seeking of a Director of Growth to lead our social media strategy and drive its execution. The director will oversee a team of six social media producers in New York, LA, and London and work closely with our data science team and senior editorial leaders to grow audience and increase video views.
We are looking for a passionate, proactive and results-driven leader with the proven ability to use data to develop best practices and actionable insights. She/he will work closely with the Managing Editor to set daily and long-term coverage priorities and expand Mashable, both in the U.S. and internationally. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the digital media landscape, aware of new and emerging trends in video, and bring significant experience working at a media organization covering culture, technology, and/or entertainment. She/he will report directly to the Head of Growth and Audience.

The Day-to-Day

Lead and manage our social media team, collaborating with editorial, studios, data science, branded content and senior leadership.
Oversee all of Mashable’s social media platforms.
Communicate best practices for distribution, discovery and optimization of stories, using our proprietary data technology.
Grow Mashable’s audience across platforms, with a focus on video.
Oversee posts across all social media platforms across our global operation.
Create increased awareness of Mashable content and regular viewers across platforms.
Collaborate with Mashable Studios to manage Facebook Live programming.
Strategize growth for video views across platforms.
Serve as the lead for social products and technical projects.
Forecast and track Mashable KPIs and communicate to key stakeholders.
Represent Mashable on TV and radio as well as at events and panels.
Must Haves

6+ years of experience leading social media teams
Strong familiarity with Mashable and our coverage
Proven track record for increasing followers, engagement and traffic
High metabolism and the organizational skills required to manage the daily/weekly/monthly publishing flow of a global editorial team
Experience collaborating with editors to grow and increase audience, both on site and across platforms
Proficient in analyzing complex issues and developing actionable insights and plans
Ability to communicate best practices to large editorial operations
Expert knowledge of trends and tools for social media platforms
Strong understanding of Omniture, Google Analytics and Comscore
Strong presence on Twitter, Facebook and other social sites
