Facebook is seeking a leader who is knowledgeable and passionate about developer branding. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer or developer marketing at a fast-paced company. We are looking for an individual who can communicate how and why our variety of products can provide meaningful value to developers.
He or she must be driven and have a relentless focus on growing and bringing awareness to Facebook’s developer tools and services. This person understands different market dynamics, competitive landscape, mobile app trends, and how to positively impact developer sentiment and drive new behavior. He or she must have experience effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and exhibit excellent skills in brand building, product positioning, and creative marketing. The ideal candidate will be analytical and display strong communication and organizational skills. This is a full-time position based at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park.
Responsibilities
Build awareness and user sentiment for our developer-facing products and lead privacy sensitive marketing communication.
Develop a strong platform narrative, and author developer-facing communication such as blog posts, guides, keynote presentations
Host internal training sessions and provide direction on branding across Facebook Developer products
Manage the Facebook Developer Site and successfully launch site localization
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader Facebook ecosystem, competitive landscape, and mobile app industry needs to develop and execute go-to-market plans for developer solutions – from positioning to market assessment and quantitative analysis
Represent the voice of developers with Product Management and Engineering, planning and leading successful product launches and programs to drive product adoption
Manage and work with cross-functional teams (including PR, design, product and engineering stakeholders) to deliver world-class marketing communications for platform-wide initiatives
Lead developer product marketing for some of Facebook’s most well-known brands, including Facebook Social Plugins and Share products
Day-to-day lead on F8, Facebook's annual Developer Conference. Specifically, coordinate and plan F8 sessions, materials, schedule, and marketing communications and materials.
Create developer programs to build and improve the overall developer brand and experience for apps and websites that use Facebook. Including a developer newsletter program and webinar program to drive product awareness and form a thriving developer community
Requirements
BA/BS degree or equivalent, MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly recommended
Management Consulting and/or technical background is a plus
8+ years professional experience in Marketing or Product Management in Internet and/or technology
Strong understanding of web/mobile apps developer and industry landscape
Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering organizations
Comfortable communicating to a variety of audiences, including both technical and consumer
Strong analytical ability,outstanding communication, and excellent time management skills
Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply
Strong ability to think creatively and strategically with a sharp eye for detail and proven project management skills
Comfort with a face-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
