The Global Business Finance Organization is responsible for supporting the company’s executives and officers with financial and operational analysis to drive business decisions that contribute to the success and profitability of Oracle. We are currently searching for a Director of Finance for our EnterpriseArchitecture and Security business organization, located in Redwood Shores, CA.
Reports to Vice President of Finance
Direct management of team of finance professionals
Supports an area of Oracle that has Software, Hardware, Consulting and Software Development Functions. In addition to traditional sales finance functions, it also includes overseeing expense functions such as Physical and Information security.
Responsibilities:
Consolidation of Forecast, Budget, Planning for Business Unit.
Supply constant and real-time financial information to business executive on revenue streams, operating expenses, headcount and key business drivers. Understand data intersections across the company’s various business units. Maintain data integrity and information credibility.
Prepare business executive to present to upper management in quarterly operations reviews and state of business presentations. Prepare meaningful content and analysis relevant to the meeting objective. Effectively convey information to senior executive management.
Oversee and prepare executive annual budget to meet corporate budget objective and satisfy business goals. Forecast and analyze variances to plan.
Understand and use current finance systems and tools to highest levels of capability. Work to adopt and implement next generation finance systems and tools.
Simplify, standardize and automate finance activities.
Drive consistent processes, systems, and formats.
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals at Oracle
Personal Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Finance supporting a business area. Sales Finance or Corporate Finance experience desirable
Knowledge or past experience with software development teams, research and development labs and MySQL are preferred and desired.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance. MBA highly desirable.
Relevant experience in enterprise software or hardware industry. Knowledge of industry and ability to articulate industry patterns and trends

Serves as a financial advisor and business partner in managing the activities of the financial analyst staff. Ensures that global business processes and practices are followed in providing accurate financial analysis in support of Oracle*s business to facilitate decision making and future business strategies. Manages a professional staff.
As a member of Oracle*s finance organization, you will manage the finance team and drive key cross functional business practices such as management of the budget and forecasting processes. Your will prepare, administer, and direct the control of the budget. Review and approve recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitor divisions and subsidiaries adherence to budgets. Develop, implement, and integrate financial practices across multiple organizations and locations. Develop, recommend, and implement financial policies, practices, and process changes.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Serves as process owner; ability to identify cross-functional issues. Demonstrated leadership skills. 10 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA/MBA desired.
