This is a very key strategic leadership role within NPI operations, This leadership role is accountable to provide partner leadership to product development in driving high quality commercialization results. Primary support for our Silicon Systems Business Units located in Santa Clara, California and Austin, Texas. This is an incredible opportunity for a motivated, energetic engineering leader - Provides DFx engineering leadership and direction through senior managers. Is accountable for the DFx performance and results of multiple products across multiple business units. Co-develops and executes business unit and functional strategies to achieve key business objectives. Help set strategic direction for DFx and Cost Engineering organization.
Serve as primary functional contact and technical expert on the senior leadership team to set the strategic direction for the DFx organization as well as to ensure the tactical execution of commitments for area of responsibility.
Provide leadership, direction and strategy development and makes final operational decisions within level of authority.
Develop the DFx organization skills and disciplines to include DFx skills, project management and problem solving expertise.
Evaluate and implement cost optimization designs, driving alignment with the Design Engineering Authorities.
Perform technical calculations on most complex BTP parts and assemblies to determine a fair and acceptable price for both Applied Materials and our suppliers.
Establish organizational procedures and plans, consistent with corporate policy. Execute, and recommend modifications to corporate policy.
Partners closely with Operations leaders to ensure the smooth transition of products to volume manufacturing by providing requisite component, subassembly or system level test fixtures, training and procedures
Collaborate with sourcing group on supplier strategy. Serve as guide to sourcing organization members on supplier selection. Maintain involvement and influence; be recognized and sought after expert across materials organizations. Advise the suppliers (when needed) with alternative manufacturing methods / procedural changes to lower cost and increase quality.
Project Management expertise ; independently manage most complex projects across Business Units. Assign projects and monitor results.
Building the Dfx center of excellence – developing direction and hiring talent.
