We're looking for an accomplished product management leader to play a big role on the Amazon NoSQL database team.

The DB services team is growing rapidly, and is seeking an accomplished customer-focused product management leader with strong product management (inbound and outbound) and technical experience in database products or services..
Your primary responsibility will be to own a database service or market segment and accelerate the business growth in current and adjacent markets. You will achieve that by shaping and driving the product strategy and roadmap that focuses on customer experience, user adoption, and operational excellence. In this is a highly visible position you will interact with the senior management team within AWS and Amazon.com businesses.
Key Strategic Objectives:
Provide unparalleled customer experience for the service you own and drive broad adoption. Create and execute on product plans to deliver new features, pricing changes, marketing programs, customer surveys, partner engagements, “how to” guides, and technical documentation. Develop a strategic and tactical plan that measures and improves the awareness, trial, and adoption of Amazon RDS.
Grow to lead the organization through change, evolution, and sustained scaling. The right individual will aspire to become a leader with drive and competencies to scale the organization to match the business growth. You will lead by example, being just as passionate about operational performance and predictability as you are about all other aspects of the customer experience. You will not have the luxury of having tunnel-vision for any one area; rather, you will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new customers and between features, architectural improvements and operational excellence.
Basic Qualifications
To be considered, a candidate must demonstrate the following:
- 10+ years of Product Management experience with Internet business experience
- Proven track record of taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Demonstrated writing skills at a level suitable for presentation to senior executives
- Analytical background sufficient for pricing / margin / elasticity analysis
- Technical competence with distributed systems, networking, database fundamentals, and security
- Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- General manager/owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive, prove ability to influence others.
- Insatiable will to get stuff done.
- Unrelenting tenacity.
- BA/BS in a technically relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will additionally demonstrate the following:
· 15+ years in Technical Product Management, both in individual contributor and management roles
· MBA
· BS in Computer Science / Engineering / Mathematics
· Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, as-a-service delivery and pricing and databases
· Experience talking with developers in their own language to come to the best solution from the beginning (hobby or professional coding experience in any language is a plus)
· Provable and documented track record of taking ownership and driving actual business results (e.g. pipeline auditioning, revenue or margin increases, field and consumer program management with measurable results) for a business with > $500M revenue
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
· Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results
· Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple sub-projects simultaneously in order pull together a single vision
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment
· Strong writing examples and a history of making presentations to hundreds or thousands of people
