Job Description:
Be on the leading edge of one of the fastest growing data center segments by joining the Storage Group GM staff as a Director of Scale out Storage Solutions The Storage Group is in search of an experienced leader with proven success in engaging with customers, ecosystem players, and internal partners to drive positive business results. The leader will be responsible for delivering storage solutions within key market segments. This leader will have a solid understanding of the storage industry, effectively understand customer direction and business imperatives, anticipate customer needs, and translate these into system solutions.
Overall business health and accountability to the VP/GM of the storage Group
Ownership of Customer engagements and communications
Leading a matrixed, cross-functional team, dedicated to the product for the entire duration of the product life cycle
Segment expertise and voice of the customer, providing guidance to different departments, translate between them, and forge their conflicts into compromises or consensus in support of the system goals
Making decisions and providing clear direction and priorities to deliver Intel Storage Solutions/roadmap in this space
The Leader Will Also Be Expected To
Communicate clearly to their teams, their partners and peers, and externally
Speak with authority and conviction for the business, the opportunity and the Intel Solutions both inside and outside Intel
Translate between the horizontal functions, and drive alignment to resolve conflicts in support of the system goals
Motivate his/her team (direct and dotted line reports), providing coaching and support to develop and grow their team's expertise in the scale-up area, ensuring value to the organization
Work collaboratively with the horizontal leaders, as well as other vertical leaders, to determine and align on allocation of resources and priorities across the organization
Qualifications
You must possess at least a Bachelor degree in Engineering or Computer Science or the equivalent technical acumen. You must also have domain expertise in the storage market.
Additional Qualifications Include
MBA or the equivalent business acumen desired
Domain expertise in the Cloud, HPC, Telco, or Enterprise segments is highly desirable
More than 8 years' experience in planning, product, segment, or platform marketing
Experience defining and delivering developed and/or derivative products.
Strong knowledge of Intel's server business, products, and technologies highly desirable
Proven ability to influence external stakeholders, up and down the org chart, and across divisional boundaries a must
Direct experience cultivating and supporting design wins with customers
Understanding of storage market dynamics is a requirement
Experience in building solutions for a market in transition is a plus
Ability to operate in an ambiguous and dynamic environment a must
Willingness and desire to learn, pave new ground, set new BKMs, and break into new markets
Clear and concise verbal and written communication
Ability to work cross geographical lines with occasional travel
