Job Description:
The Director of Planning is responsible for focusing on deriving customer demand and developing and implementing world-class practices & standards. This position possesses a broad range of responsibilities critical to efficient utilization of resources and inventories to meet demand.
The Director of Planning has oversight of all production and capacity planning.
Organizational Relationships:

Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance, Environmental, Security, Logistics, Information Services and Customer Service.



Responsibilities:

The Director of Planning will manage performance including tactical performance in regard to capacity planning & utilization required to meet target inventory levels and manages available resources to achieve OTIF matrix.

Establish new process procedures and practices to improve operational performance and ensure the availability of materials and services in terms of total cost of ownership, with both internal and external customers.

S/he will ensure support for site production schedules, including contingency plans, oversee daily processes in moving the material flow in support of an optimized cycle time metric and interface with both internal and external customers.

S/he will foster good communications, teamwork and supports total employee involvement, ensure supply chain support to new product introduction.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree is required (preferably in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business) and an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of supply chain, operations, logistics or relevant experience is required. Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures required.

Experience in a World Class Manufacturing Environment is highly preferred.

Supervisory experience is required.

Proven leadership, teamwork, initiative, creativity, people and assertiveness skills are required.

Knowledge of all aspects of material management, production and capacity planning, delivery and inventory control highly preferred.

Experience & knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel is required.

Strategic thinking.

Create, cultivate and implement change.

LEAN material flow, planning & scheduling is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage complexity is required.

Knowledge of ERP and Advance planning systems required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
