Job Description:
This is a senior leadership SW management position in Intel's Data Center Group with measureable impact to the server group's revenue and long term growth. This individual will lead strategy definition and own translating into an execution plan.
The group's charter is to drive leading edge technology into the server market; this is accomplished by defining standards, implementing new programming models, and helping establish those programming models with Server ISVs and OEMs. Critical to enable the system with Firmware, drivers, OS kernel modifications, and ultimately server application libraries.
This requires interaction with companies implementing leading edge technology such as big data systems as well as well establish software systems such as databases and operating systems. The group is responsible for well-established technologies such as a real-time embedded FW system that manages core system functions as well as develops leading edge system Power Management solutions. Delivering these technologies in a predictable and efficient manner requires the use of the latest software development methodologies and techniques to manage a development team of over 300 engineers, spanning four sites (Oregon/Colorado/Arizona and Poland).
The Ideal Candidate Would Have The Following
Experience running large multinational engineering teams, 200+ people, manage budgets 30M+
15+ years' experience managing SW/Firmware development teams, preferred candidate with 7-10 years of SW development
Experience delivering complex SW/FW subsystems, technically oriented and able to understand complex SW/FW
Understand software development methodologies, especially good knowledge around agile processes & tools
Understand operating systems, realtime OSes and server OSes such as: Windows/Linux/VMWare/Hyper-visors.
Master degree+ in computer science or equivalent experience
Knowledge about server storage technology desirable
