Job Description:
Develop and implement projects and programs that focus on issues relating to the U.S. capital markets, including Dodd-Frank implementation and securities regulation. Lead the program relating to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grow the existing program related to the business community’s engagement with the CFPB. Working with CCMC senior leadership, develop and execute strategy; effectively manage member relations; engage with Capitol Hill and CFPB staff; prepare speeches and background materials and conduct briefings; brief members of the media and respond to inquiries; draft and edit presentations and other advocacy materials; develop materials for and speak at briefings and conferences; build and manage coalitions; conduct and oversee research; and supervise outside consultants.
Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years’ experience on Capitol Hill or in a regulatory agency working on capital markets policy; a thorough understanding of financial services regulations; excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills; ability to identify and provide solutions for emerging issues; experience building and managing coalitions; team player and able to work effectively with senior-level executives. Advanced degree preferred.
