Director Strategy Engagement Military Veterans Affairs JPMorgan Chase New York City

Job Description:
The Director of Strategy and Engagement, Military and Veterans Affairs will be responsible for, in partnership with the Head of MVA, developing the strategic direction of the firm’s Veterans’ program, as well as for overseeing all aspects of external engagement. This individual will report to the Managing Director, Head of Military and Veterans Affairs.

Specifically, the Director of Strategy will:
In partnership with the Head of MVA, help define and implement MVA strategy and improve the program;
Serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of MVA and his leadership team on issues pertaining to strategy, external engagement, and external communications;


Partner with the Corporate Communications teams to develop content, cultivate spokespeople, and secure excellent coverage for the firm’s Veterans’ initiative;
Oversee external engagement strategy, and as such develop and execute engagement plan that raises awareness of MVA programs externally, and positions the firm as a corporate and thought leader in the Veterans space;
Assist Director in forming strong partnerships with key external influencers;
Lead all efforts related to MVA’s External Advisory Council
In partnership with Director of Operations, oversee internal engagement strategy, and as such develop and execute engagement plan that raises awareness of MVA programs internally;
Manage the philanthropic endeavors of the MVA program and synchronize MVA activities with JPMC’s Corporate Responsibility and Global Philanthropy;
Manage and coordinate all civic engagement activities to ensure that engagements align with MVA strategy and have strategic and systemic impact;
Coordinate and find areas of partnership with JPMC’s Veterans efforts internationally.

Requirements
Master’s degree and minimum of 8-10 years experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;
Ability to work effectively with senior management to develop and execute a strategy that supports the goals of the business;
Excellent relationship skills with the ability to develop strong partnerships across business functions and indirectly lead and gain consensus on process and control-related issues;
Excellence in leading change;
Clear ability to think and act strategically and creatively;
Experience establishing and meeting goals, tracking and driving optimization opportunities, and presenting progress of the same;
Strong knowledge of the firm’s LOBs, polices and initiatives;
Vendor management experience (including requirements development and oversight);
Working knowledge of audit, risk and operational management concepts, with the ability to manage the impact of policy and procedural changes, identify and address potential problems;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound judgment;
Strong decision-making skills combined with time management and project/program management/planning skills;
Experience and comfort with public speaking;
Commitment to exemplifying the highest integrity and professional business standards, while exercising the utmost discretion in managing sensitive information.
