Director Product Management PTC Boston

Job Description:
As our Director, Product Management, you will define the platform strategy and vision, market and customer requirements, value proposition, R&D priorities, business plans and go-to-market strategies to ensure the success of the Digital Twin offerings within PTC’s Internet of Things (IoT) Technology Platform. You will own the platform and product plans, roadmaps and priorities, and actively communicate this to R&D. You will also actively engage with customers (IoT developers), analysts, industry associations and partners to understand high value use cases for existing and new capabilities, market and technology trends affecting the platform domain, documents and prioritize critical gaps and continually optimizes PTC’s platform’s value proposition.

Responsibilities include:

Represents the product and platform, and present to customers and prospects the technology platform strategy and vision. Is recognized by customers as a leader in the domain of technology platforms.
Understands global App Developer profiles; Can articulate and prioritize personas and their problems so that the appropriate products and capabilities can be built
Familiar with the market domain and key technology trends impacting that domain
Develop user personas that define the archetypical users of your products or services.
Responsible for positioning the solution according to its ability to solve market problems. Create internal positioning documents that will be used to develop external messages focused on each key buyer or persona.
Understand accounts/prospects by region, industry, etc
Illustrate market problems in a "story" that puts the problem in context. Use Cases & scenarios are one component of requirements.
Collaborate on the development of a marketing plan.
Collaborate with Product Marketing on standard product presentations and advises on samples Apps, and demo scripts that can be used by the sales & Partner recruitment teams in a typical sales process.
Consult with Marketing on the creation and delivery of thoughtful information (webinars, blogs, eBooks, etc.) to influence customers, buyers, industry specialists, research analysts, key editors in the press and other third parties.
Collaborate with company stakeholders to define the specific plans and budgets for ensuring customer retention, loyalty.
Work with finance and ops to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts company operations, and how it contributes to profit.
Understand why recent evaluators of the product did or did not buy and what steps they took in the buying process.
Customer Commitment Management: Identify, prioritize and monitor customer driven enhancement requests, and guide sales campaigns toward available feature sets.
Represent PTC in Technical Committees, developer conferences, and seminars at level of technology offering, business process and value.
Deliver product information to qualified buyers in support of existing sales efforts.
Work with Technology Pricing peers and corporate pricing team to establish a pricing & packaging model and schedules.
Provide program management oversight for key dates and deliverables required for successful delivery of new capabilities and products.
Ensure that all departments are prepared for new releases and all items are completed to launch successfully.
Oversees the capability and product roadmap that delivers the vision and key phases of deliverables for the offerings. The roadmap is a plan, not a commitment. It can and does change.
Market/Analyst influence: Participate in analyst calls and contributes to white papers to articulate PTC’s perspective on specific solution areas.
Align with corporate strategy to map needs with target markets.
Discover opportunities in the market by interviewing customers, recent evaluators and untapped, potential customers.
Perform an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulate what was learned in the market and quantify the risk, including a financial model.
Understand competitive and alternative offerings in the market and their strengths and weaknesses. Develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
Determine the most effective way to deliver a complete offering to an identified market problem. Analyze whether to buy, build, or partner.
Determine which distribution channels and Go-To-Market models are most appropriate to maximize solution success.
Develop a Product business plan with defined success metrics.


Desired Skills and Experience
You have a Bachelor degree, masters preferred with minimum 5+
years of overall experience with experience in advanced product planning
work with leading technology companies.
You have over years experience in Product Management of a platform technology that serves individual, ISV or corporate IT developers
You have Experience in cloud services, MES and M2M, intelligent manufacturing, IoT, SaaS, mobile, etc. highly desirable
You use a strategic framework for concept generation and understanding of consumer research methodologies; You are data-driven and use analytical decision making
You have a proven track record of running ideation sessions, synthesizing market and customer insights and technology trends, and generating requirements to address critical customer needs
You have excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize and articulate complex concepts targeted at multiple audiences
You have a passion for technology and good understanding of current technology landscape and issues
You value quality design and high usability
You thrive and can adapt quickly in dynamic, high-growth environments
You possess strong verbal and written communication skills
You can maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, and employees
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of progressive experience.
