The Director of Finance leads the finance team responsible for developing the financial plans for Eddie Bauer’s Store and Direct businesses. The Director also identifies and recommends opportunities for improved profit and expense performance.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing In Your New Director Role
Establishing the financial discipline in the development of accurate and timely P&L projections (LRP, budget, plan, and forecast)
Designing the planning cycle process
Leading your financial planning team in developing and maintaining key business-driving metrics
Analyzing and evaluating the business and proposing opportunities for expense management
Leading your finance team in monitoring expenses, current performance versus plans, and determining contingency actions as needed
Analyzing and interpreting complex financial concepts; providing clear and concise summaries and recommendations, and influencing decision makers with facts supporting your recommendations
Becoming the subject matter expert with the retail landscape and business model; specifically, the ecommerce and catalog profit models
Directing and executing post game analysis for investment spending programs
Assessing and implementing process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the financial planning cycle
Conducting on-going financial benchmarking against competitors
Creating new analysis and reporting to ensure Senior Leadership has a clear understanding of significant financial issues that impact profitability; providing recommendations to counter financial issues you identify
The Director We’re Looking For Has The Following Experience, Expertise And Education
10 years’ experience in FP&A with at least 5 of those years in retail
3 or more years leading and developing a finance team
Experience coordinating the planning cycle in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Broad and deep understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance concepts
Excellent PC Skills with the ability to design and maintain complex financial models and create high quality financial presentations
Ability to summarize business results clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA preferred
