The Director of Product Management for open source hardware platforms is responsible for helping define the overall strategy, product roadmap and execution. The candidate will be expected to interface with a broad set of internal cross-functional/cross-divisional teams, as well as engage externally with strategic customers and partners. While this role is primarily responsible for the open source hardware platforms, it is also tasked with helping contribute to the strategy and definition of Intel open source software projects and assess routes-to-markets and key strategic partnerships. Some travel is required in order to achieve the objectives of this role.
Qualifications
10+ years product management / product ownership experience preferably in hardware platforms
A robust understanding of customer usage cases, architectures, and pain points. Ability to rapidly establish a close working relationship with key customers is essential.
Solid understanding of product management processes, know how to create MRDs/PRDs, perform competitive analysis, feature/function prioritization and assessment.
Must be a very capable communicator and be comfortable working with a wide variety of corporate executives, sales, marketing, engineering, operations, customers and business partner.
Proven teamwork and people management skills; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Business focus with strong technical background; well-developed analytical skills; excellent project management skills.
Ability to formulate business plans, competitive analysis and product marketing requirement documents.
A BS or equivalent degree in a technical discipline is highly desirable. MS in CS/EE and/or MBA preferred.
