Director Global Product Development Hasbro Pawtucket

Job Description
This new role will be instrumental in leading creative and product design for our global licensing teams and formulate innovative concepts/assets and strategies that support Hasbro’s brands and Entertainment and Licensing’s commercial objectives across global toy, games and certain hard goods items.

Inspire Product Design team and ensure that creative output adheres to brand strategies and drives business results, ensuring a robust system to support key licensee milestone deliveries.

Accountable to Global Creative Directors, SVP Creative and Marketing, Regional Leads in the development innovative and elevated product solutions

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Work with 40+ Licensing colleagues in 18 offices across the globe, including 16 dedicated to Product Development, to drive best practices and ensure product innovation, brand consistency and quality compliance across the toy and game category
Partner with Creative Directors, Territory Business Leads and NA Directors to translate business goals into unique brand and product experiences, with a specific focus on toy, game and hard goods.
Partner with Creative Directors to create a Product Design strategy across key consumer demographic groups, brands and new business opportunities
Partner with Global Brand teams to ensure product strategies and development is consistent with Brand Values and in-line with Hasbro Toy focus.
Manage Global Product Design and Development studio with team of 3x designers, as well as licensees and an external resource base, in concepting, creating and delivering elevated product solutions.
Empower team to vet licensee product against appropriate brand, pricing and category considerations prior to seeking GBT input.
Ensure global consistency across all T&G categories.
Mentor and Coach team in raising standards and creating best in class creative and product solutions
Work with Category and PD teams across multi-regional territories to translate franchise direction and design strategy into locally appropriate product.
Drive development and execution of necessary toolkits and assets to support key franchise priorities
Develop and deliver tools and asset to support growth of Custodian Brand Opportunities, (wholly lead and managed brands)
Work with Operations manager in the development and delivery of Tools, Assets and pitches to support total Category focus
Partner with Creative Director Story Expressions to ensure optimisation of story-led play patterns
Act as brand ambassador


Qualifications
Degree level educated,
Recent experience leading a team and providing direction across regions or groups
Minimum 5-8 years professional experience leading a small Product Development team and further experience of working as part of a creative and commercial community
Have an ability to keep up with new creative trends.
Must possess knowledge of industry standard design software.
Action orientated self motivated professional with commercial awareness
Able to manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously with excellent time and project management skills
Confident in collating presentation material together and using relevant software such as PowerPoint, experience in Microsoft Office
Experience in global organisation, candidate should have a sensitivity to cultural differences and diplomacy
