Position Overview
The Senior Program Director is: responsible for successfully managing the specific projects/programs and clients assigned, from inception through production, effectively and proactively executing on time and within budget; participates in budget development and management and exemplifies a high standard of quality and professionalism; provides training and a mentoring approach to multiple direct reports (as applicable) and identifies potential systems and tools to streamline work and enhance quality; ensure all SOX compliance program materials and documentation are secure throughout the duration of the program


Program Management: Successfully manage educational and/or promotional content and effectively deliver and implement project/program elements on time and consistent with strategic program objectives; discuss and help drive strategic opportunities with account management and team members on programs and company offerings; educate/reinforce program team and central services on workflow/necessary next steps/action items and provide tools for learning and completing the process; direct/coordinate with team members on the specific projects/programs assigned; liaise between Account Management and Medical Director/Strategic Content Director on content development; identify and recruit faculty; coordinate with Operations, Medical Direction, and Creative, as necessary, on design concepts, logos; develop timelines with coordinator; coordinate direction to staff members on all related tasks for specific projects/programs assigned; research and review scientific literature to provide references for content development; attend client meetings when necessary; attend, participate in, and cover live on-site meetings; understand and adhere to specific client HCC guidelines. Note: some weekend time and travel required.

Financial Management: Assist Account Lead with forecast development as appropriate to business unit; monitor budgets weekly, document financial status on status reports; develop budgets and participate in proposal development/pitches and presentations for new and existing accounts when necessary; initiate proactive budget discussions with Account Management when job specifications change and work with Account Management to generate Scope Change forms and help resolve financial issues; attend monthly finance meetings with Account Management and Finance; assist Account Management with reconciliation of program management portions of budgets

Time Management: Ensure that Coordinator moves all project/program materials to appropriate team members in an orderly and timely manner; meet with Coordinator to review/update status of active projects/programs; facilitate scheduling kickoff, run-through, status and wrap-up meetings in order to provide internal teams with necessary support and direction; ensure appropriate use of e-mail and voicemail for communication status within and outside of the organization

Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s degree or higher and 8+ years in program management and/or medical education; 2 years supervisory experience of two or more staff members; 2 years experience with PhRMA, OIG; ability to maintain flexibility and foster teamwork in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
