Audible (an Amazon company) is looking for a technology leader to lead software engineering teams in developing and operating next generation highly scalable, highly reliable mobile applications. As a technical leader, you are a pragmatic visionary who can understand and translate business needs into workable technology solutions that meet the needs of customers via software systems that scale both technically and operationally.



You will manage the team that owns the suite of applications that support the Audible iOS and Android mobile user experiences.

Audible prides itself on providing listening experiences that enhance commute, working out at the gym, or simply relaxing at home. Titles downloaded from Audible are compatible with hundreds of mobile devices, including the Amazon Kindle, Apple® iPod®, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and more than 500 digital players and devices.


10+ years of experience building and managing development teams that design and deliver large distributed systems - preferably in agile development, object-oriented systems realm with high availability.

2+ years of experience in software development in Mobile Applications in iOS or Android

Must be technically credible to lead teams of world-class software engineers and be able to make the right design decisions and technology choices.

Must be credible in leadership with partner-stakeholders (business, product/program etc.) for strong team and results-oriented delivery.

Demonstrated experience in building/operating products and systems in a consumer-centric e-commerce space is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills - demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences including those at the senior leadership levels.

Detail orientation on technology, technical-development, quality, operations and system performance.

Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferably in Computer Science (or related discipline)
