Job Description
The Director, Tax Planning and Analysis contributes to the Company’s success by providing strategic and tactical tax support to key stakeholders throughout the organization.
Develop strong working relationships with business, finance, and tax leaders across the organization to collaborate on significant tax matters affecting the Company’s operations
Support a wide range of tax planning initiatives and assess the impacts on the Company’s tax position
Perform technical research and analysis on domestic and international tax issues and business transactions
Support company-wide merger and acquisition initiatives by evaluating deal structures, performing due diligence, analyzing acquired tax attributes, reviewing legal agreements, preparing and reviewing step plans, reviewing deal and valuation models, and preparing documentation to support transactions
Provide technical support on all tax compliance and tax provisioning matters; prepare technical memos to support tax filing and financial reporting positions
Assist with transfer pricing analyses and documentation
Review corporate tax filings for technical accuracy and completeness
Work closely with in-house and external legal teams to manage corporate legal documentation to meet tax requirements
Assist with tax audits
Work collaboratively with outside advisers on significant tax projects
Develop and provide direction on critical tax policies and processes to help foster a strong control and governance environment within the tax function
Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years of tax planning and consulting experience
Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, large multi-national organization, or law firm (or combination thereof)
Accounting degree required; CPA certificate preferred
Masters Degree in Taxation or JD/LLM in Tax is preferred
Ability to think critically to resolve complex issues and challenges
Strong writing, analytical, research and organizational skills
Strong communication, presentation and project management skills
Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team
Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive environment
