Job Description
The Role
The Director of Educational Program Activation is responsible for working with the corporate education partnership sales and implementation teams starting at program inception through execution in order to inform program development and build community engagement plans. This person will also work closely with the Corporate Education Partnerships (CEP) Implementation lead, CEP marketing team, the research and analytics team and the Community Engagement team to ensure program activation, determine community impact and program effectiveness, and maintain an ongoing communication flow between teams.
Program Ideation and Development
Work closely with the CEP team to help inform program development during the ideation and initial program development phases
Community Engagement Strategy
Build out comprehensive program strategies to grow impact and value of educational programs
Interface with partnerships, implementation and regional marketing where the program extends across to DE K-12 districts
Manage the implementation of engagement strategies from inception to reporting results
Collaborate with Community Engagement team to support implementation of strategies
Participate in the development of program-specific marketing plans that help drive awareness and demonstrate value to educators
Communicate community engagement strategy updates on ongoing basis to the CEP team
Product Knowledge
Responsible for knowing all functional and educational aspects of all Discovery Education products and services
Responsible for knowing all CEP program goals and relevant aspects of program components in order to develop strategies that help drive program participation
Budget
Adhere to budget by managing travel and account management expenses
Follow all company policies associated with financial management including use of the One Card
General
Maintain a thorough understanding of DE’s overall goals and strategic vision; sharing this knowledge with customers when appropriate
Maintain an understanding of industry trends, current events, anything that may impact the business by reading professional publications, researching all available prospect/product resources and participating in professional organizations
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
Demonstrate superb project management and communication skills to ensure account teams are fully up to speed on deliverable timeline expectations
Communicate workload focus on a regular basis to ensure program prioritization (daily, weekly, etc.)
Demonstrate a “problem solving- solution oriented” approach
Maintain clear and complete account files (ensuring ease of information sharing)
Establish strong relationships will all clients
* Advanced degree required, Master’s Degree or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience
* Approximately 10-12 years experience, or equivalent, in roles of increasing responsibility with 3 years of experience in education preferred
* Deep ties to the education community including the ability to navigate the political landscape of public school systems
* Thorough working knowledge of education technology including digital media and emerging web technologies and their application in the educational environment
* Impeccable interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
* Attention to detail and the ability to manage and lead a diverse workload
* Ability to work as a team and in a fast-paced environment.
* Candidate must be willing to travel approximately 70-80% of the time with seasonal variations to our educational partner schools in order to conduct business
* Candidate must have clear and current clearances in the following three areas: Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint check in order to conduct business in our partner schools
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
