Director Business Development RGP Chicago


Job description
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Business Development will play an instrumental role in growing market revenue through the identification and development of new target clients. This individual will utilize his/her exceptional client relationship and communication skills to get meetings with key decision-makers in targeted clients and must be able to close new business.



We are looking for a "hunter" who has a successful track record in the Chicago area; has developed excellent relationships with "C-level" clients and their direct reports; and who has their finger on the pulse of Chicago.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Continually develops new business by identifying target clients, networks with individuals at key associations, meets with target clients, and is able to close work in all RGP’s service lines (i.e. Accounting/Finance, Information Management, Human Capital, Supply Chain Management, Regulatory and Legal).

+ Cultivates and expands existing business relationships through frequent communication and regular client visits.

+ Generates project needs, clarifies the scope of projects with clients, works with Director of Recruiting to match Consultants’ skill sets with client engagement needs, presents qualified Consultants to the client and works with the Managing Director to finalize bill rates.

+ Ensures approved business contracts are executed by taking responsibility for the completion of all engagement paperwork, including the timely receipt of signed engagement letters, as well as continuously update system tracking data.

+ Supports team goals of office by participating in strategy meetings, including discussing candidate and Consultant pipeline, account targets, marketing strategies, and current opportunities/challenges.

**Additional Required Skills:**

+ Ability to respond creatively, quickly and effectively with high energy to clients' needs and issues.

+ Ability to negotiate and concisely communicate complex concepts/business issues verbally and in writing to clients, Consultants and management.

+ Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects and proven ability to develop business relationships.

+ A drive to build the business with a high level of enthusiasm and the capacity to overcome obstacles.

**Education & Experience:**

+ Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience selling, networking and generating leads.

+ Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited institution is required.

+ Experience in client relationship management, identifying opportunities with clients, networking and generating leads.

+ Strong professional network in the Chicago area.
