Director - Project Management - Siemens - Mountain View


Job description
The Ultrasound Division of Siemens Healthcare is looking for a Director of Project Management for our Mountain View, CA or Issaquah, WA location.
This position will report to the Vice President of Engineeering and manage a team of Project and Program Managers with primary responsibility for timely planning and execution of multiple complex product development projects to achieve high quality outcomes.


Responsibilities:
- Directs project / program managers in full scope of responsibilities (PLP adherence, planning, quality, risk management, schedule, and budgets) for very large and complex engineering projects or programs.
- Manages resource planning and allocation across projects to ensure project completion targets can be met.
- Manages Project Steering Groups (PSGs) and Core Teams. Defines, implements, and utilizes project management tools and processes.
- Schedules project reviews and reports to the Management Team and others as required.
-Recruits, trains, and develops high performance Project Managers.
- Communicates frequently with senior management and cross functional management teams to drive business goals.
- Maintains effective working relationships with, and travels to relevant Siemens locations and vendors worldwide.
- Manages functional department with respect to budget, resources, assignments, organizational and personnel development.
- Plans Milestone Roadmaps for Systems, Transducers, and Applications. Documents project M milestones in a comprehensive matrix.
- Directs Project Managers to ensure that the matrices are maintained on a regular basis and works with the Department B.A. to keep budgets updated.


- Directs the tracking and reporting of projects between M milestones.
- Directs the management of detailed schedules for complex projects.
- Monitors and reviews project progress across all complex projects, including budgets and project risks.
- Directs the Identification and resolution of key project issues with project management or senior executive management.

Education & Knowledge:
- Bachelors degree in technical field; MS preferred.
- PMP or PgMP certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years experience in medical industry (medical imaging preferred) with experience in project management.
- Experience in management of complex product / technology development required.
- Microsoft Project expertise required.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
