Expedia's Media Solutions team is looking for an experienced, creative and detailed oriented marketing professional to help execute the public relations strategy for Expedia Media Solutions. This role will work across the global leadership team to align communication efforts across multiple verticals and geographies. We are looking for someone with deep experience in developing a strategic framework for communications, fostering an environment of creative ideas to deliver against strategic goals, as well as general marketing competencies to establish Expedia in the digital media space. Expedia is investing heavily in the advertising business and Media Solutions will be a crucial driver of Expedia Inc's overall revenues.
We are seeking a self-starter who will roll up their sleeves and execute against our PR strategy with creative and drive. The right candidate will possess an urgency to promote our innovative story to our target audience. Candidates must have a marketing background; an emphasis in B2B strategy and execution is preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience in online marketing & executing B2B PR strategies as a means to generate leads, grow revenue and raise awareness. Collaboration is a "must-have" and will be a critical component when contributing successfully to the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and lead the development of an annual PR plan and budget that strategically aligns to the team's initiatives globally
Develop and execute media relations strategies and programs and identify opportunities to generate excitement and awareness about Media Solutions in the press and with key trade organizations
Be a Media Solutions evangelist internally and externally
Advise internal clients on communications strategy aligned to business objectives
Design a customer advisory program to advise PR and broader team strategies on industry trends, business priorities and strategic direction
Engage with internal leaders to identify key story ideas on product, partnership and analytics
Partner with internal subject matter experts and external partners to develop and execute a robust social media and blog strategy including Twitter and LinkedIn
Stay abreast of latest marketing trends and practices and leverage knowledge to adjust CRM strategy as appropriate.
Work across the global leadership team to identify areas of opportunity for communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; in journalism, communications or public relations preferred.
7+ years' experience in public relations, including some agency experience.
Demonstrated skills managing and developing effective working relationships with external agencies.
Experience with technology and/or digital media products.
Creative, strategic and analytical thinking skills
Thoughtful leadership, both within the PR discipline and the business at large
Ownership of role and projects will be key to success in this position.
Proven ability to work across teams.
Willingness and ability to work in a fast-moving and team-oriented environment
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
