Director - Design Engineering - SanDisk - Milpitas


Job description
Cross-functional responsibility for memory integration, algorithm development and signal processing, developed as a technology platform supporting all Enterprise SSD products sharing the same next generation memory node. Broad responsibilities including technical leadership of functional teams in other organizations and direct deliverables leading a technical team anchoring the platform.

Directs and guides the activities of a research or technical design function responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives.
Prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of technical projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Skills/Experience: Requires MS/MBA/MA degree or equivalent with 18 or more years of related experience and 12 or more years of direct management experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of division/business unit strategic objectives and goals. Excellent planning and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a fast paced and limited resource environment. Dynamic, motivated, and results oriented creative thinker.

Desired Skills and Experience
Key position reporting to Vice President of Advanced Technology, requires domain expertise in memory technology, storage technology and signal processing as well as a strong track record of innovation and technical management.

Requires MS/MBA/MA degree or equivalent with 18 or more years of related experience and 12 or more years of direct management experience.
