Director - SaaS Services - EMC - Boston


Job description
Manages a team of managers and senior individual contributors supporting SaaS applications and also those in technical roles supporting a global enterprise implementation of Success Factors (Avanti). The Director of SaaS sets direction for the entire team; deciding strategic priorities, making key tradeoff decisions on scope, escalating business related issues to senior business executives, partnering with the business to drive closure to issues, and working across the broader IT team to vet issues and drive resolution.
This role will work closely with the Executive Demand leads across the IT organization and have visibility to Avanti Program stakeholders as the technology lead. Serves as solution delivery expert for the design and implementation of Service Center specialty area. This role will need to influence technical roadmaps and partner with business leaders and IT leaders to provide services and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
This role has overall management responsibilities for the technical program delivery of SaaS applications across the Federation.

In Partnership with finance, manage the overall CapEx and Opex spend and targets for the year and reports this out to the key program sponsors as required. All work is managed within this budget and prioritized accordingly.
Responsibility for technical program delivery for Avanti program and other SaaS platforms. Leads a team of 20+ professionals; manages a budget between $2-$10M, impacting more than 30k users globally.
times of high stress, this role is also required to manage the emotions and expectations of the overall team and business stakeholders to ensure the team stayed focused and managed.
Drive accountability with other dependent organizations in IT to deliver results.
Provide leadership for large technical programs and bring new technical capabilities for our consumers.
This role also requires ability to determine the right tool for the right problem and the ability to drive multiple IT delivery methods required to achieve results.

Desired Skills and Experience
Expertise driving cross functional collaboration and effort, and working daily with the business counterpart to drive technical program delivery.
This role understands how to escalate key decisions, how to present issues, and how to collaborate to achieve a common objective.
The ability to drive fact based discussions to facilitate the right outcome for EMC.
This role requires the ability to stay calm under pressure and effectively manage and communicate to senior leaders in IT and the business. During
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
14+ years of professional experience and 7+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people management and development skill (or equivalent experience).
