Director - Marketing Communications - NBCUniversal - Universal City


Job description
Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) is looking for a strategic storyteller responsible for overseeing and executing all Marketing Communications for the company. This position works closely with all marketing, sales and operating departments as well as outside advertising agencies to ensure that the company's brand is consistently communicated in appropriate markets and in all mediums. Position reports to the Vice President of Brand Marketing.

Responsibilities:
*Direct and manage internal Creative Services department including Project Managers and Graphic Designer. Ensure department is in compliance with the USH brand guidelines.
*Plan and implement creative advertising consistent with the USH strategic vision and brand, including digital, out-of-home, print, direct mail and collateral for all areas of product responsibility.
*Partner with digital team to ensure a consistent brand representation across any and all digital platforms (banners, videos, new page design, etc.).

*Partner with Director of Media and Promotions to plan and manage annual production budget. Provide monthly budget reconciliations/reports.
*Direct and oversee external "execution" advertising agency. Ensure agency is in compliance with contract and that all executions are within the USH brand guidelines.
*Partner with VP to build strong brand positioning, brand architecture and an integrated consumer communication platform.
*Communicate cross functionally to ensure that the consumer marketing strategy is clearly understood and that the brand vision, values, and equity are maintained.
*Develop a transparent set of benchmarks to gauge the success of all markting programs.
*Collaborate with the VP of Brand Marketing on the development and execution of the creative strategy and ensure that all work throughout organization (online and offline) reflects this strategy.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

*Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university is required; majors in Marketing or Business Management is preferred.
*7 to 10 years of relevant work experience working in a marketing and/or advertising environment.
*In-depth knowledge of all advertising and marketing division functions including creative process, productions, budgets, internal and external printing and media placed requirements.
*A high degree of success with creating "campaign level" communications that drive consumer trial and frequency against a multi-layered targeted, ethnically and geographically diverse, audience.

*The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to effectively interact with all levels across an organization. This is a hands-on position involving regular collaboration with the senior executives and operational executives.
*Viewed as an expert in brand exposure, management and protection.
*Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple disciplines.
*Strong problem solving and project management skills, including the ability to juggle many priorities at the same time; strong attention to detail.
*Strong leadership and management skills; set and communicate goals, measure accomplishments, hold team accountable, and give useful feedback; delegate and develop; keeps people informed and provides effective coaching.
*Fluency in Spanish language preferred
