Director - Fleet Sales - Civil Markets - Cirrus Aircraft - Duluth
Job description
Reporting to the Vice President, Fleet and Special Mission Sales, the Director of Fleet Sales is responsible for growing Cirrus Aircraft’s civilian fleet business through direct sales efforts with airline training academies, college and university aviation programs, air charter operators, and other commercial aircraft operators. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solution selling; developing and closing large, complex B2B opportunities; and will be an active general aviation pilot – preferably with CFI credentials.
Background
Cirrus Aircraft is a recognized leader in general aviation. Its all-composite line of aircraft are ideal for professional pilot training and air charter. The SR20, SR22 and turbo-charged SR22T incorporate innovative and advanced performance, state-of-the-art avionics and safety technologies, including Cirrus PerspectiveTM by Garmin and the unique Cirrus Airframe Parachute SystemTM (CAPS). The new Cirrus Vision Jet SF50 is scheduled for certification in 2015. The Director of Fleet Sales will have global responsibility for developing and growing sales of SR and SF50 in flight training, air charter and other commercial markets.
Essential Duties
Develop and execute “go-to-market” plan for global fleet sales with College and University Flight Schools, Airline Training Departments, Professional Pilot Academies and Air Charter operators. Specific duties, include:
· Developing a network within defined markets
· Promote Cirrus Aircraft products and related services
· Represent Cirrus at trade shows and industry events
· Analyze opportunities, develop and propose appropriate solutions
· Write proposals and respond to RFPs.
· Finalize contracts and close sales to achieve assigned quota
· Work with marketing to develop integrated marketing approach that supports overall go-to-market plan.
· Provide market guidance to engineering on new product development and enhancements.
This position requires extensive travel. Overtime hours will be required. At this time, this position is Duluth based. We may consider remote locations in the future.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus minimum five years of senior level B2B sales experience, preferably in aviation or related industry. Master’s degree preferred. Experienced business leader with extensive international sales experience. Strong program management and cross-functional leadership experience required.
Certificates or Licensures
· Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating required
· CFI preferred
