Global Director - Business Insights - OtterBox - Fort Collins


Job description
OtterBox is currently recruiting for a Global Director Business Insights opportunity to be located in our Fort Collins, CO (preferred) or San Diego, CA office. If the position is located in the San Diego office there will be frequent travel to our Fort Collins location. This position is responsible for leading and directing the business insights and market research group within our marketing department. In this role you will act as a thought leader and look at the business to identify research programs that will contribute to a strategic approach to our business. You will use key analytics across functions (domestically and globally), primary and secondary research, forecasting, competitive intelligence and sales analytics to lead your team in providing insights excellence to senior leaders across the company.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of performance that demonstrates strong leadership and ability to create a high performance global business insights team. This person will also have a strong results orientation while leading through others and an ability to influence multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Do (but not limited to):
Lead relevant and timely research that drives business outcomes in product development, marketing and corporate strategy
Proactively provide fact based insights and analytics programs to address strategic business needs
Develop and implement new innovative insights and business analytics tools, techniques and processes
Manage through others to acquire data or insights across the business
Effectively communicate findings to a broad variety of stakeholders in a clear way
Act as point of contact/owner for a wide variety of marketing data sources
Manage research relationships with external vendors and internal partners
Manage, coach and develop staff to their full potential

Desired Skills and Experience
What You’ll Need (but not limited to):
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or PhD preferred.
Minimum ten years of progressive experience in strategic insights, market research, business analytics, forecasting, finance or a related field and an understanding of new product development (NPD) or other syndicated data is required. Experience must include supervising, managing or leading a team of at least two direct reports.
