The Overview:
This Software Development Director will be an innovative self-starter with extensive services and program management experience. Your leadership in this high impact role requires tackling the challenges of technical scaling and optimization while being responsible for continuous innovation to deliver rapidly changing business requirements for our ecommerce systems.

Job Requirements:
Lead and manage all aspects of product management lifecycle from strategy through delivery and measurement
Work with senior leadership on organization design and execution
Partner with Chewy’s recruiting team to recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
Mentor, coach, and manage a team of software developers, product managers, and development managers
Constantly evaluate our core technology processes and look for opportunities to streamline and add greater value
Lead all technical work items for assigned space (projects, enhancements, production support, etc.)
Partner with tech leadership team to evaluate and select new technology solutions
Define, build, communicate, and manage clear business metrics and service level agreements
Responsible for executing programs for user awareness, compliance monitoring, and security compliance, which includes: maintaining information security solutions, monitoring compliance requirements (i.e. PCI DSS), and resolving security policy issues.
Desired Skills and Experience
Preferred Skills:
5+ years of management experience
5+ years direct software development experience
Strong software development, design and architecture experience
Experience partnering with or leading technical product managers and product management teams
Demonstrated ability to think big and follow through on delivering significant business innovation
Demonstrated personal initiative and strong ownership
Experience working in a highly agile software development environment
Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others
Very strong analytical skills with experience building financial models to measure program results
Experience building and supporting technology solutions for retail direct-to-consumer business is a big plus
